Mountain Bike Tour Arenal Volcano - Lake Arenal
For mountain bike lovers La Fortuna and Arenal Volcano offer the perfect scenery for mountain biking.
There are two routes to choose from: one is scenic and moderately challenging that will take you through farm land growing the typical local crops. The more challenging route provides spectacular views of Arenal Volcano as you make your way up to Lake Arenal.
Arenal Volcano and Lake Arenal Bike Tour
This ride is an approximately 17 mile (27 km) tour on tranquil dirt paths between the Lake Arenal dam and the old road around the Arenal National Park. The beautiful natural scenery will allow you to see colorful birds like Toucans and Motmots as well as coatimundis, monkeys, sloths, and more!
You will also pass through small villages and farms until you arrive to the town of El Castillo (the Castle) and a small stream known as Caño Negro (Black Spring). A brief rest stop to enjoy a spectacular view of Lake Arenal and the Volcano will give you the energy you need to continue enjoying your tour.
La Fortuna Bicycle Tour
In the area surrounding La Fortuna you will find small picturesque villages, farms growing the local crops of cassava, papaya, corn, and more. We invite you to enjoy this tour that gives you a glimpse into the daily life of the Costa Rican people.
We make use of an ideal equipment setup: a good bike, helmet, gloves, and a guide to accompany you on the tour. As you ride over trails and through beautiful country the guide will share his knowledge of the local area with you.
During the approximately 10 mile (15 km) ride you will create wonderful memories of your visit to Costa Rica. A beautiful experience to enjoy while you exercise!

What to wear: Appropriate clothing for biking, closed toed shoes, sunblock
