One day Arenal Tour: Guided Hike to the La Fortuna Waterfall + AMA Extreme Canopy Tour + "Vida Campesina" Life of a Farmer Experience

Near Arenal Volcano in Costa Rica is a majestic, famous waterfall known as the La Fortuna Waterfall. It is located only 5 kilometers from the center of La Fortuna.

This fall of nearly 60 meters (~200 feet) is the first stop on our tour. We’ll take a short drive from the center of La Fortuna to the trails that will take us to the crystal clear waters of the Río Fortuna and the falls. There you can swim in the refreshing waters of the river and relax listening to the therapeutic sounds of nature.

A naturalist guide will accompany you along the hike until the second part where you begin your Canopy Tour. 

In the second part of this tour you’ll enjoy the AMA Extreme Canopy Tour which includes:

• Unforgettable views of the Rain Forest and Arenal Volcano.
• The longest zipline cable in the area (960 meters/half a mile) from which you’ll be able to observe the La Fortuna Waterfall.
• A look out to see the Pino Blanco Waterfall.
• 7 cables in total of lengths between 220 and 980 meters.
• The first cable starts on a platform 18 meters in the air.
• One of the cables goes from platform to platform while crossing a canyon 120 meters below.
• Cross a hanging bridge.
• Reach velocities of 65 to 70 km/h.

After the Canopy Tour we’ll head on to the Rural Life exhibition, a site located a few minutes from the center of La Fortuna where their goal is to conserve the essence and roots of what it means to be Costa Rican—the customs, traditions, and culture of its people. A delicious lunch is prepared with ingredients cultivated and harvested at the farm; you’ll even get to be part of the process as our guide shows you through the farm.

Enjoy exquisite plates prepared from artisanal traditional recipes; take in the aromatic café prepared fresh. Enjoy this 100% Costa Rican lunch. After lunch we’ll give a short tour of the farm to wrap up an unforgettable day combining three activities into one. At the end we will take you back to your hotel.
